Harvest process

Cameron Highland farm

Wake up on the early morning before sunrise, have a hot water bath, delicious breakfast, wearing farmer uniform and go to farm. These are the daily process for farmer which urban people doesn't do. After we finished our breakfast, we drive to the tomato farm entrance and listen the rules and skill for harvesting by the farm holder. The only tool we need is basket, basket is use for filling up the harvested tomatoes.

When we step into the tomato farm, we was like "wow". A hundred plus of tomato lane with around 30-50 meters length is in front of us. It seem like takes very long time to harvest hundred above tomato lanes but the farm holder called two foreign workers helped us to finish early as soon as possible. So in total we have seven peoples include our team.

Harvest tomato required a little technique, because the harder you drag the tomato you might been drag the whole root. So the safest way to harvest the tomato is one hand grab the root another hand pull the tomato. While we harvesting we facing a lot of obstacles like bugs are everywhere, some of the lanes are extremely narrow and step on soft muds.

Around 1:00pm, we finally harvested the whole tomato farm. It's very tired but is fun when you know someone is going to eat the tomato that harvested by you. On the way back hotel, I thought of people who come to Cameron Highland should often visit farms more than going other place. And try to be a farmer even though only one day.
